Over the last couple of months, we have taken delivery of some new machine tools to replace some older machines that were needing upgraded.
A new larger press brake has been installed that has a capacity of 200 tonnes over the 3m blade length which will allow us to form 12mm thick plate over the length. It has three axis CNC control and will enhance our metal bending capacity greatly over the old 80 tonne machine that we purchased in the 1990’s. Unfortunately, the old machine couldn’t be sold and it went to the scrap yard once the hydraulic oil had been drained. Training is in hand for the operators who use the new machine which is all computerised.
We also replaced our existing XYZ bed mill which has been running nonstop since we bought it twelve years ago, the new machine is the same make and size but has a larger motor which allows for faster & bigger cuts to be taken. It also has ungraded soft wear with more features for the guys to get used to. We have retained the old machine which allows jobs to be turned out faster using the two machines.f
