We are comfortable in our workshops on the Shore where we have been located for over a hundred years. But long lengths of material need planning and logistics to get them in and out of the doorways due to vehicles parking close to the doors.
Earlier this week we received some 14m long steel beams that are required for a large lifting frame ordered by one of our customers. We arranged parking cones in strategic places to allow the lorry room to reverse in through the doorway, the steel was then lifted off using the overhead crane.
Weekend job is fabricating the frame that will finish up at over 13.5 x 2.6m wide and weighing nearly three tonnes. It then needs to be delivered to the customer after load testing.
