We have been working for the past few weeks making support frames and counterbalance arrangements for a large reel being shipped out to Australia. The support steelwork was delivered and eventually fitted to the reel and umbilical terminations once the umbilical was completed. Final fitting was carried out over ten days working around the clock through some typical December weather that included gales, snow and freezing conditions. The large counterbalance weights were made from 600mm thick steel plate cut to size.
